Many people are not familiar with the vapor honing process like they are with sandblasting which is more commonly known. Vapor honing is also known as vapor blasting, dustless blasting, or slurry blasting.
The key difference is as follows: Sandblasting is the process where dry abrasive media is blasted at a product to clean or strip of any coating/paint, leaving a rougher matte finish. With vapor blasting, the media (usually glass bead or ceramic bead) is blasted with water, giving the part a nicer shine and washes into smaller areas for an even finish. Vapor blasting is also more gentle and does not have a risk of damaging or pitting the part that is being cleaned.
